How to set up Google Place Reviews WordPress plugin
Please complete steps below to make sure that the plugin works properly.
Step 1: Create a Google project and an API key
Please watch the video below to know how to create an API key for this Google Place Reviews WordPress plugin.
Step 2: Restrict your API key
Go to your API key
Set restrictions like this
Step 3: Set up billing account
On July 16, 2018, Google pricing plan went into effect for Maps, Routes, and Places. But don’t worry, they give each account an amount of $200 free each month, regular usage of this plugin falls under that amount so you don’t have to pay for any fee. All you need to do is filling a billing account and setup the budget so you’ll not be charged.
Please go to https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/ , click on “GET STARTED” ,
tick on Maps and Places, click on continue, select the project in which you create the API key for this plugin and follow the guide.
Go here https://cloud.google.com/billing/docs/how-to/budgets to set budget $0 so you’ll not be charged.
In case you want more than regular requests (of budget $200 free) and willing to pay, you can set any budget you want.
If you want to limit requests, you can refer to this setting
Step 4: Enjoy your Google Reviews plugin
Add your business location and get reviews
Go to Menu Locations > Type to search your place or use Place ID > Save Changes
Then click Get New Reviews > Save Changes
Go to Menu Shortcode > Select your location and some style settings > Create Shortcode
Copy and paste the Shortcode into your Post/page and see the result
